What is a towel ?
To give your bathroom a new and trendy look, one of the important aspects is the collection of towels. Bath towels, hand towels, wash cloths and other towel accessories like towel rings, hooks or clips, if matched well can make a huge impact on the look of your washroom.A well coordinated color scheme, designs and patterns can brighten up your washroom. A towel is any paper or fabric with absorption properties used for the purpose of drying or wiping. Towels are a must have in bathrooms. Paper towels are used in kitchen for various purposes-cleaning the platform, dishes etc.
Types of towels
The variety of towels is unlimited. There are different colors, fabrics, designs, patterns, contrasts to choose from:
Bath towel - Primarily used after bathing, bath sheets are large bath towels and smaller towels are sometimes referred to as bath mats.
Hand towel - Small sized towels, are generally used in the bathrooms near the sink for wiping hands and faces.
Paper towels - are used in the kitchen. These are disposable towels. Facial tissues also fall in this category.
Beach towels - These are large ones, ideal for a relaxing day at the beach or poolside.
Sweat towels - The towel that is used after a vigorous work out at the gym.
Sports towel - Quite similar to sweat towels, used while playing, swimming or any other energetic physical activity.

Owen towel - Used for the owen but it has multipurpose uses.
Tea or dish towels - These are used for cleaning crockery and other precious items.
Flannel washcloth - These are facial towels, wet the towel, apply soap and then apply it to your skin.
Apart from these varieties, there are many more kinds of towels like-hooded towels, embroidered towels, printed towels, woven towels, fringed towels, plain towels, designer towels etc.
Why do we need towels?
Towels are essentially used for cleaning and drying but they can also be used as a sarong after a swim in the beach, a turban to soak water from your hair, to lie down, sit or stand, as a pillow on a lazy afternoon at the beach, as handkerchief, used by barbers as steamed towels or to hold hot objects. We need towels to wipe ourselves after a shower or dip in the pool, after a visit to the washroom, after a work out at the gym, while working in the kitchen, while playing outdoors, wipe off the sweat on a sunny afternoon, and lots more.
Materials used for making towels
Towels are available in a variety of materials like cotton, terry, linen, rayon, paper, suede, microfiber, velour, jacquard etc. You will also find attractive patterns and designs.
Keep your towels clean
To maintain good health it is important to keep towels clean. It is essential to wash the towels regularly, dry them well, not be bleach or treat with fabric softeners. Dark colored Towels should be washed separately. Towels should be dried at a low temperature in a clothes drier. Neatly folded towels give a neat and inviting feel.
